Making a purchase
Just browse through our on-line shop, and add any books that you wish to buy into the shopping basket. When you have finished choosing, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.
You can pay by debit or credit card. If you are shopping from outside the UK, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to your own currency.
We accept Visa Credit and Debit, Mastercard, Switch/Maestro, Solo, and Visa Electron.
When you receive an e-mail confirming your order, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and therefore that a contract exists, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the event that a mistake has been made in pricing, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable. |
| Delivery
We will normally dispatch books within 3-5 working days. You will receive an e-mail either notifying you that your book(s) have been dispatched, or otherwise indicating when you can expect this to happen. If there is a delay for any reason you will have the option of cancelling your order.
We send books in the UK by first class post which should be delivered within 1-2 working days; books being sent overseas may take a couple of days longer.
It is our policy to keep shipping costs as low as possible, and not to seek to make extra profit by overcharging for this element of the price. Ideally we would charge for shipping and packaging at cost, but this of course would not be fully known to us until your items had been dispatched. For the sake of convenience, for orders being delivered to the UK, we have therefore set a pricing structure for shipping as follows:
Items with a total value of £10 or less = £1.50.
Items with a total value of £10 - £25 = £3.00.
Items with a total value of £25 - £50 = £5.00
Items with a total value of £50 or more = free.
Items shipping to the rest of Europe will be charged at a standard rate of £5.00. Again, items with a total value of £50 or more will ship for free.
Items shipping to outside of Europe will be charged at cost, as the variations in cost can be significantly larger. In this case we will always email you details of the full cost before taking payment, and give you the opportunity to cancel your order.
We will from time to time review these prices to ensure that they are as close as possible to the actual cost of shipping and packaging. As a result we may in the future revise these prices up or down. |

Back orders
If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be e-mailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait. |

Tax
There is no tax charged on any of our books. |

Credit Card Security
To ensure the best protection for your card details, we use a third party Payment Service Provider - Actinic Payments - to process the transaction for us. Actinic operate a scheme that is 100% PCI-DSS compliant, which means your details are protected to the highest industry standard. It also operates AVS, CV2 and 3D Secure, all of which are anti-fraud measures. When you place your order, you are therefore transferred to the Actinic Payments secure site to enter your credit card details, where they are encrypted using 128 bit SSL encryption. Once this is completed you will be returned to the wellheadbooks.com site for your receipt. |

Privacy
In order to complete your order, we ask you for your name and address, and your e-mail address. These details will be retained in a cookie file on your computer if you select the 'Remember Me' option, so that you do not have to re-enter the information when you place another order. Our website also uses cookies to keep track of the contents of your shopping basket. You can turn off cookies within your browser by going to 'Tools | Internet Options | Privacy' and selecting to block cookies. However, if you turn off cookies, you will be unable to place an order.
We also collect statistical data about visitors to the site to help us effectively administer and enhance the site.
We would like to use your email address to occasionally inform you of news and special offers. If you don't want to receive our emails you can tell us during the checkout process.
We will never disclose any information we collect about you to anybody else, except for the purposes of delivering your books, or unless required to do so by law. |

Returns
You can return any books you are not happy with and receive a full refund, provided you do so within 7 days of receiving them. If you do wish to return any books, contact us by any of the methods shown on your electronic receipt, and we will make arrangements for their return.
